Activating your subscription
You have subscribed to EIDGuard through the Azure Marketplace. There is nothing to activate: the subscription activated itself at purchase (the offer uses automatic activation), and billing starts from that moment. This page is where the marketplace sends you afterwards, and it exists to tell you what to do next.
If the marketplace brought you here with a token in the address bar, it is not needed and is ignored. Nothing on this page reads it.
What to do next#
- Deploy EIDGuard from the marketplace listing into a new, empty resource group in the Azure subscription you want to run it in. Uninstalling later means deleting that resource group, so keep nothing else in it.
- Open the dashboard at the deployment's URL and run the browser Setup Wizard: Setup wizard walkthrough. It turns on sign-in for the deployment and then onboards your first External ID tenant.
- Let it register. During setup the deployment introduces itself to the licensing service and receives its licence — the plan you bought and the number of tenants it protects. From then on it checks in every six hours.
How your plan reaches the deployment#
The plan lives on the SaaS subscription, not in the deployment. Your deployment learns it at setup and re-reads it on every check-in, so:
- Changing plan in the Azure portal (Marketplace → your subscription → change plan) takes effect on the next check-in — within six hours, usually sooner. Nothing is redeployed and nothing needs re-onboarding.
- Upgrading raises the tenant limit immediately for onboarding.
- Downgrading only limits new onboarding. Tenants already protected keep being backed up, keep their recovery points and stay restorable, even when that leaves you over the new limit.
- Cancelling stops new onboarding and, after a grace period, scheduled backups. Restore, compare and export of the recovery points you already hold always keep working, and nothing is deleted.
The full rules, including what a plan counts as a tenant, are in Plans and tenant limits.
Bought through a partner?#
If a partner (CSP) manages your Azure subscription you cannot change the plan yourself — the portal shows the subscription as read-only. Ask your partner to move you to the plan you want; the deployment picks it up the same way.
